Halloween: Trick or Treating

Here's my question for parents: Does anyone go trick-or-treating anymore? I've been asking around our area and it seems trick-or-treating is less popular than ever. Participation in local neighborhoods seems to be spotty at best. But that's where we live. What are things like in your area? If your children aren't going trick-or-treating, will they be doing celebrating Halloween another way? I would love to know what you all are doing!

My one year and I are going to a church event where there will be a carnival and other games; an alternative to Halloween.

I grew up in a household where we chose not to celebrate Halloween, but could participate in school events. With my family, I am choosing not to celebrate Halloween, but provide alternatives to the fall holidays.

The children still Trick or Treat in my neighborhood. We have hot dog roast and minature cokes for the kids as well as pass out candy. Most people send their children to school activities, just can't trust people anymore.
